The hotel is a mixed bag: while the rooms could use a little TLC, they are small yet clean and well-presented with all the essentials for a short stay. The location is superb for accessing shops and restaurants, featuring a charming four-poster bed and lovely high ceilings with beams.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were small but clean and well presented, with everything you would need for a short stay. The four-poster bed was a nice touch with high ceilings and lovely beams.
Service
6.0
The service had its ups and downs. While I had to go into the bar to get the barman's attention and there were some issues with room changes, the staff were helpful, even providing a key for late-night access.
Location
8.0
The hotel is quite central, making it convenient for exploring the town. Despite potential noise from the nearby rail line and rowdy crowds, the overall stay was pleasant, with easy check-in/out and proximity to key attractions like Jephson Gardens and the Assembly.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience left something to be desired with a late start for breakfast and noise from the bar above affecting the ambiance, however, the homemade local products added a nice touch to the menu.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities could be improved, especially regarding the noise levels and cleanliness in shared areas. There were some inconveniences, like laundry scattered about until later hours.

The hotel had both positives and negatives. The rooms were a bit worn and poorly appointed, making us feel unsafe due to noisy neighbors, but they were kept clean with fresh towels daily. The service was friendly but needed refurbishment. The location was convenient, close to the town center but with noise issues. The dining experience was a mix of freshly cooked delights and some disappointments. Facilities needed attention.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a bit cramped, hot, and located on an upper floor above a lively pub with loud music until the early hours. I could hear every noise from the surroundings, making it hard to rest. However, the service, especially from the security manager and bar staff, was excellent and accommodating, even though I had to repeat myself multiple times. The location was somewhat central and convenient for the train station and the places I needed to visit. The dining options were satisfactory, although breakfast started late for my schedule. Despite the drawbacks, the hotel offered value for the money, with decent facilities available.

The rooms were cramped and hot, situated in the attic about 50 steps from the ground floor above a noisy pub. The noise from the pub and surroundings made it hard to sleep.
Service

The service, especially from the security manager and bar staff, was excellent, friendly, and helpful, though I had to repeat my requests several times.
Location
6.0
The hotel's location was somewhat central and close to the train station and the town center. However, the area was not the most pleasant, with some unpleasant smells around.
Dining
7.0
The dining options were fine, with plenty of food available, but breakfast started late for my departure and journey plans.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities were decent and met basic needs, though nothing exceptional was noted.
